The tension between Iris and Gabriel builds as they share their home with their longtime friend, Laure. Laure and her husband Pierre have hit a rough patch in their marriage after Pierre confesses that he has just found out that he has a child with someone else. Laure cannot seem to come to terms with this new development and takes advantage of the generosity of Iris and Gabriel by overstaying her welcome. Tensions rise and secrets are revealed as this story twists and turns. Just when you think you know who did what, you find out that you are so very wrong about all of it! This is a fun psychological thriller read that will keep you guessing until the very end. This book is available at the library and on Libby. ~ Alesia

When It Falls Apart by Catherine Bybee

Luca D'Angelo comes from a proud Italian family in Little Italy. He and his family own an Italian restaurant where he's the head chef and his family lives above it. Luca hopes that he and his young daughter can move into a floor that has recently been vacated. Unfortunately, he learns that his Mother has unexpectedly rented the upper level to a single woman who came into the restaurant for dinner. Luca is upset that his Mother would rent out the floor that was promised to him and his daughter. He decides to extend his unhappiness to the new renter. After getting to know each other, can they remain distant from each other based on their initial judgements of each other? This book is available at the library. ~Erin

The Murderess by Laurie Notaro

Based on the true story of a doctor's wife and minister's daughter who, in 1931, takes a train from Phoenix to L.A. with something foul dripping from her traveling trunks. A truly fascinating story. This book is available at the library. ~ Leslie W.

Bad Liar by Tami Hoag

I haven't read Tami Hoag in quite a long time. This book was a very good reminder of why I should. A small town hero, an unidentified murder victim in a Louisiana swamp, missing persons, drugs, lies & love gone wrong make for a great thriller. This book is available at the library and on Libby. ~ Bonnie

The Favorites by Layne Fargo

What a wild ride! Katarina Shaw and Heath Rocha have been an ice dancing pair since they were children, working their way up through the ranks. The Favorites gives you an inside look at the politics, the drama, the cut throat desire to win gold no matter the cost. Shaw & Rocha have chemistry and passion that just might destroy them. Their story is captivating and drew me right in. This has been compared to Daisy Jones & the Six, and I have to agree. The style the story is told is very similar. If you loved the former, you will sink right into The Favorites. However, if ice dancing isn't your thing, stay away from it. You will grow tired of the constant competition. This book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie M
