The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt: The Women Who Created a President by Edward F. O'Keefe

At his first wife's urging, Theodore Roosevelt gave a speech in college about equal pay for women. His older sister was his key political advisor and his younger sister would become his press secretary. Edith, Roosevelt's second wife helped make Teddy an American institution. This book is a must read for history buffs. Available at the library! ~ Leslie W.

The Coast Road by Alan Murrin

A well-written literary examination of marriage in the mid-90s before divorce was legal in Ireland. My attention was grabbed in the prologue when we learn a house caught fire. It becomes very apparent that something nefarious has gone on and we're about to find out what that something is. I can't say this novel was particularly exciting, but the writing and story kept me coming back for more. Available at the library! ~ Leslie M.

How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu

When a long dormant virus, found in the thawed prehistoric remains of a young girl, reshapes the future world, the main characters each have to reshape how their lives will go on. Some dedicate themselves to helping others and some by helping themselves. This story follows multiple perspectives and goes to distant places but all with the same message- how do we make someone's end better? Available through inter-library loan.
