And Then There Was You by Sophie Cousens
Chloe Fairway is unhappy where she currently is in her life; at the age of 31 she expected that she’d be further along in her goals and dreams. Sadly, she’s newly single, living with her parents and not growing in her production assistant position. She learns that the university where she graduated is holding a 10-year reunion; however, Chloe isn’t interested in attending because she doesn’t want to face her classmates that voted her “most likely to succeed,” when she clearly hasn’t. She’s also lost touch with her closest college friend who’s an Important movie producer.
Then she learns about a new dating service that has a high rate of matching people perfectly and she decides to see if there’s any truth to their claims. She meets her ideal mate Rob through the company and decides to take him to her college reunion, what could possibly go wrong with that idea? Available at the library and through Libby. ~ Erin
The Sicilian Inheritance by Jo Piazza
I wanted to read this one back when it first released then forgot about it. After loving Piazza's 2025 release Everyone is Lying to You, I added The Sicilian Inheritance to our book club this for this year. I'm so happy I finally prioritized it. It's just so good! The perfect blend of mystery, history and even romance set in Sicily. Sara Marsala has inherited some land (or has she?) from her great-aunt Rosie. Rosie is a formidable lady who clearly lived with passion and gusto. With Sara's life falling apart as Rosie passes away, she sets out on an adventure completely manipulated by Rosie.
In Sicily, Sara starts to poke around at her family history and there are many who aren't happy about it. The story is told from the past (Serafina's point of view) and from the present (Sara's point of view). Learning what life was like for the women left behind in Sicily while their husbands came to America to work and walking beside Sara as she uncovers her family history was perfection. I'm looking forward to our May book club. Available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie M.
Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert
In this book, author Elizabeth Gilbert shares an interesting take on the creative process through insightful anecdotes from her own personal life. Through little snippets of wisdom, she illustrates how to approach creativity in a practical way without letting the fear of imperfection interrupt the creative process. This is a great read for anyone, but especially the creative souls out there that struggle to bring their art to life. As a creative person, I found this book to be very inspiring and I highly recommend it! Available at the library and through Libby. ~ Alesia
