The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst

This was the cutest and coziest fantasy book that I have ever read and I absolutely loved it!

After a revolution leaves the Great Library of Alyssium going up in flames, Kiela, an introverted librarian, must flee with as many books as she can carry. Accompanied by her magically sentient spider plant, Cas, they make their way back to her childhood home. They take refuge in her family’s abandoned cottage and cook up a risky plan to create an income using her family’s recipes for jam and a touch of illegal magic from the rescued spell books. After forming unexpected friendships with several of the residents of the lonely island, she decides to continue testing her luck using the illegal magic spells to create remedies that will help the people of the island to thrive. This is the Hallmark movie of the Fantasy fiction world! I absolutely adored it! This book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Alesia

The Bright Years by Sarah Damoff

An incredibly well-written debut novel spanning six decades & 4 generations in under three-hundred pages. I'm still not sure how Sarah Damoff pulled it off, but WOW! It's gorgeous. The story of Lillian, Ryan & Jet will rip your heart out, tear it to bits then reconstruct it piece by piece. While this ultimately becomes a feel good story, it's heavy. Don't think you're going to take this one to the beach for a lighthearted romp. Another buzzy book that completely lives up to the hype. This book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie M.

All the Other Mothers Hate Me by Sarah Harman

I love a book that makes me laugh out loud. This is a thriller with a sense of humor. Florence is the star of this book and let's just say all the other mothers have good reasons to hate her. She is not a likeable character. Pick this one out for the cover, stay for the story. This book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie W.

Edge of Collapse by Kyla Stone

This series of seven books is outstanding. Every book keeps you engaged and waiting to read more about Hannah, Noah, Liam, Milo, Ghost & others in this apocalyptic series.

After an EMP destroys the electricity in the whole country, how does one survive? This series is based in lower Michigan and is an excellent read. Books can be ordered through inter-library loan or checked out on Libby. ~ Bonnie
