I See You've Called in Dead by John Kenney

Bud Stanley is an obituary writer completely oblivious to his own depression. One night after a bit too much alcohol, Bud writes his own obituary accidentally posting it to his work’s site. As he awaits a final decision on his subsequent suspension he starts attending the funerals of strangers. In the process of attending these funerals, Bud learns to live again and we, the readers, meet a fabulous cast of characters.
“Life prevails. How strange and wondrous. In the midst of death, life prevails, calls to us, begs us, says, ‘Come, please, don’t you dare waste this precious gift.’
This is a beautifully written work of literature with heart, soul & my kind of humor. Don’t miss it. This brand new book is available in print at the library and in both audio and eBook format through Libby. ~ Leslie M.

The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods

This magical and heartwarming tale drew me in right from the start! The story alternates between three strangers, each dealing with their own life struggles, as a lost bookshop brings them together in the most unsuspecting ways. Henry, a journalist looking to prove his worth by solving an age-old mystery of a lost bookshop meets Martha, a woman who recently escaped her abusive marriage and is trying to get her life back on track.  Together they find themselves intrigued by the story of a woman named Opaline from the early 1900’s. As they piece together Opaline’s story of bravery and perseverance, they come to find that the magic of a lost bookshop is exactly what they needed to change their lives forever. This whole book felt like a magical journey that I wanted to read forever! This book is available in print at the library and on audio through Libby. ~ Alesia

Retreat by Krysten Ritter

A good mystery about a con artist running a con except...maybe the con is being run on her. A twist you won't see until the end. Very enjoyable. This book is available in print at the library and on audio through Libby. ~ Leslie W.

My Three Dogs by W. Bruce Cameron

This is the story of three dogs who are separated from their human family after a horrible accident. They are taken to a local shelter and put up for adoption separately; although, they have been canine siblings and hope that someone will adopt them together.

When that doesn't happen and two of the 3 are immediately adopted, the third dog, Riggs, an Australian Shepherd refuses to accept that his former canine brothers are no longer with him and begins a quest to reunite his family.

W. Bruce Cameron's quick reading novel shows us how tenacity and the power of love can mend any family unit. This book is available in print at the library and in both audio and eBook format through Libby. ~ Erin
