After turning twenty-seven, Melody Bittersweet is desperate to carve out a life of her own. In a spare room of the building that she shares with her mother and grandmother and their mediumship family business, Blithe Spirits, Melody sets out to build a ghosty business of her own. With the help of her best friend, the Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency was created. Quickly they land their first case, or rather they are competing for their first case with her ex and his ghost hunting television show. Melody and her ghostbusting team set out to free the ghosts of three Scarborough brothers by solving a murder from a century ago. With the odds stacked against them, Melody and her team get to work in this hilarious ghostbusting adventure. This book was a great quirky spooky season read and I fully enjoyed it! We Are All Guilty Here by Karin Slaughter
A new series for Slaughter, and it's wonderful. It's set in a small town where everyone knows everyone else but nobody really knows the truth. When two teenage girls go missing, can a small town Sheriff solve the case? If you like thrillers, you will enjoy this one. This new book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie W.
Look Closer by David Ellis
As always David Ellis created a captivating cast of characters in this backlist title from 2022. Main characters Simon & Vicky have created a complex web of secrets that begins to unravel when a beautiful socialite is found hanging in her mansion. Simon's propensity to soothe his anxiety by contemplating the strange rules of the English language was highly entertaining for me. Now is the perfect time to pick this one up as the crime takes place on Halloween night while everyone is out trick-or-treating. This book is available at the library and through Libby. ~ Leslie M.

Gathering Mist is the ninth in the series. Available at the library and through Libby. ~ Bonnie
